Abstract

Due to a lack of attention in the collection and publication of photographic works, existing photographic facilities and infrastructure have not followed the development of photography in Merauke. The purpose of this research is to design a Merauke photography center that supports photography facilities and infrastructure and can be enjoyed by all groups as well as a form of preserving the art of photography and can also be used as a place of education in the form of a photography school in Merauke City. The descriptive method is a method used to search for elements, characteristics, properties, or phenomena. This method starts with collecting data and analyzing data. The descriptive method is implemented through survey techniques, case studies, comparative studies, studies of time and motion, behavioral analysis, and documentary analysis. Merauke Photography Center (MPC) has facilities such as complete photographic equipment. MPC infrastructure includes photography service rooms, design rooms, print rooms, photo studios, electronics stores, libraries, auditoriums, photo galleries, studio studios, and computer rooms. There are also supporting buildings such as prayer rooms, cafeterias, multipurpose facilities, and generator rooms. Merauke Photography Center (MPC) uses a post-modern architectural approach in its design.
